2021 Fall Sessions

It's Fall, and that means our favorite time of year is just around the corner! Nothing gets us more excited than sweater weather. You know what else is exciting? Our fall session packages are back! These packages are hands down our most requested and space fills up quickly. There are three package options that offer a wide range of options to fit all needs.

• The Premium Fall package is a great fit to update your family photos prints, create your holiday cards and keep all the digital images from your session. - $325 ($100 savings)

• The Golden Fall package is a perfect balance between a full and a mini session. This package also includes some great holiday cards, a couple digital files & printed products. - $215 ($50 savings)

• The Mini Session package is a short and sweet sessions that have a couple digital files as well as optional custom holiday cards. This package is only available on Oct 17 and sessions will be held in Bowness Park - $150 or $129
  

Important Covid-19 Precaution Information

When booking a session with us here are some things you can expect regarding our Covid-19 precautions;

• These bookings are only for outdoor locations.

• Our photographers will maintain a 6-foot distance during your session. We have equipment that will assist us in capturing amazing portraits, but we will observe social distancing at all times.

• If our photographers come closer they will wear masks and use sanitizer throughout the session to ensure everyone's safety.

• At this time, all props will be limited. Anything that is used will be sanitized and washed both before and after your session.

The time has come to introduce our special and limited edition Santa sessions for 2021!

This year, in addition to our family Christmas mini sessions, we have added a special opportunity for a private meet and greet session with Santa. As you know Santa is very busy at this time of year, so limited special Santa session dates & times are available.

Session bookings open Wednesday August 25 @ 10am MST. Once open, sessions will be able to be booked on our mini session page found here.

Sessions will include

• 15 Min Private Session with Santa

• Online Gallery of Images to Select From

• (6) Digital Files of your Choosing

• Custom Wish List Sheets (mailed to you prior to the session)

• Candy Cane Treat from Santa

In addition, if you want to customize your Santa session package you will be able to add on

Important Information & FAQs

1. How long will sessions be? All Santa sessions will be 15 min long. This time will be spent with your private meet and greet time with Santa while we click away and capture these special memories.

2. What can we expect during our session? You will be brought into the studio and welcomed into a magical Christmas set where Santa will be waiting for you. We will occasionally give you gentle guidance, but the intention is to capture the true experience for you. You will be able to pre-select some Santa wishlist template sheets that we will send to you ahead of time. These match the sessions and you are encouraged to have your child(ren) use them to give a wishlist to Santa. They aren't mandatory, but are super handy!

3. Can I bring my own camera? Please leave your cameras at home and we encourage you to leave your phones in your bags. We do not work off of one tripod location and pride ourselves on capturing all the special interactions with your little ones. We want you to be able to enjoy this moment with Santa.

4. What happens if my children cry? We understand, children cry. It's not uncommon for little ones to sometimes be nervous, even when meeting Santa. Please come dressed and be ready to be in photos. We unfortunately cannot offer extra time as these are limited spots. Even if you aren't planning on having a family photo with Santa, you may need to be in the photo to make your child(ren) feel more comfortable.

5. Who can join in our session? For these sessions we require 1 session time per immediate family. We want to make sure to have our focus on each individual child, which is why we recommend booking two spots if you have more than 3 children. If you wish to book back to back sessions with another family we are happy to do that as well, but still recommend only having one immediate family with Santa at a time.

6. Do you have set options for these sessions? Unfortunately no. Unlike our other Christmas Mini sessions, these limited edition sessions will have one main set to visit Santa in. We promise, it's both beautiful and magical!

7. Please arrive on time! Please plan to arrive on time. Your session cannot be extended beyond your 15 min. We cannot make any exceptions for this. To ensure you are able to utilize the full benefits of your private session, please arrive on time and ready to go. This does include full outfits, hair etc.

8. Can we bring multiple outfits? As the session time is only 15 min we recommend 1 outfit only as we want you to be able to maximize your session time.

9. When do we receive our photos? You will receive your photos 7-10 days after your session. They will be delivered in a watermarked online gallery for you to view and select your images. We offer options for additional digital files, prints, keepsake ornaments, custom Christmas cards and keepsake frames if you would like to order once receiving your proofs.

10 Favorite Photography Spots in Calgary

A question that we are frequently asked is, where is a good location for our photo shoot? The simple answer is that there are many great places in and around the Calgary area. Every special place, nook and cranny has it’s own unique features that can make for an interesting flare or an eye catching photo. Let’s face it though, the photos aren’t of the location, the most important part of the photo is the subject…..YOU!

Even with that being said, we do still have favorite locations. Locations that we have used time and time again, that offer different things in different seasons. Locations that help with the atmosphere and are a great starting place to work from. Below are our Top 10 Favorite Photography Spots in Calgary (in no particular order).

Spruce Meadows

Spruce Meadows is located in South West Calgary off of highway 22X. They are Calgary’s site of many horse jumping competitions and shows, seasonal markets & shows, as well as great venue spaces for Weddings and Events. The vast grounds offer great views of rural Alberta with great buildings, architecture, wooden fences, long rows of trees, well landscaped areas, & even old fashioned train cars.

We love this venue for it’s accessibility (if there isn’t an event taking place), it’s variety of photo areas & it’s beauty year-round.

Steven Avenue (8th Ave)

Steven Avenue is located in the heart of downtown Calgary. This street is full of unique buildings and flare. Housing some of the oldest buildings in Calgary including the old bank buildings, it is the perfect backdrop for an urban flare.

We love this area for the mix of old & new, formal & casual, and always an aspect of the unexpected. If you are looking for an urban feel, this is definitely a great location!

Heritage Park & Calgary Reservoir

Heritage Park Historical Village is located off of 14th Street in South West Calgary. The park is one of North America’s largest living history museums. For a photography location one of the greatest parts is the Haskayne Mercantile Block which is outside of the main park by the main park gates and doesn’t require admission. Inside the park there are also many great locations to take advantage of!

In addition to the park which is full of interesting historic buildings and fun amusement rides, it has a great view of the Calgary Reservoir and the paddle boat. The reservoir is another aspect to this location that can be utilised for a more natural setting.

We love this location for its historical atmosphere combined with the calming natural setting of the reservoir. It is also truly versatile and can be used from everything from weddings to casual family portraits.

Riverfront Avenue & Memorial Drive

Riverfront Avenue & Memorial Drive is located on the North side of downtown. This area has beautiful views of downtown Calgary, the Bow River, as well as some great architectural features.

We love this location simply for the views of the Calgary skyline and the great architectural features.

Bow Valley Ranch – Fish Creek Provincial Park

The Bow Valley Ranch in Fish Creek Provincial Park is definitely one of the most popular photo locations in Calgary. With its gorgeous historic ranch house, belonging to the late Patrick Burns, tall grasses, large trees and overall country feel you can definitely see why.

We love this location simply because of its country backdrop. What is more perfect then a country inspired photo shoot in Calgary?

Baker Park

Baker Park is located in Calgary’s North West across from Bowness Park. This area offers large fields of green grass, views of the Bow River and some beautiful pergolas throughout the park.

We love this location because of it’s simplicity. It is manicured enough for wedding photos, but spacious enough for little ones to roam and run. It’s also gorgeous in every season. Truly a great location for all.

Inglewood

Inglewood is Calgary’s original main street. Located on 9th Avenue to the East of downtown. It offers an arts & culture scene mixed with an industrial vibe. The streets are lined with unique houses, interesting shops and restaurants, all with an industrial feel. It is Calgary’s oldest neighbourhood and neighbours Fort Calgary.

We love this area for it’s industrial feel and versatility. It’s also a great area for themed photo shoots.

Confederation Park

Confederation Park began with a, “…spring-fed creek [flowing] down what was once known at the “North Hill Coulee”…it was developed into this largely manicured park and golf course, and fortunately, with the wetland there remains a ‘taste of the wild’ in a city setting.

We love this location for it’s location in the North of Calgary off of 16 Ave. It is also a casual park full of gorgeous trees and a creek side scenery.

Calgary Zoo

The Calgary Zoo is a combination of beautiful animal environments and landscaped botanical gardens. It is the home of many animals and a popular visitor destination of residences and visitors.

We love this location for the beautiful indoor and outdoor gardens and backdrops that allow for any weather scenario.
